“Heuriger” is the name given in Austria to the wine of the current year’s harvest as well as to the traditional taverns in which it is served. As the name suggests, the focus of Friesacher Heuriger is wine – not just the Heuriger but a wide selection from Austria and the rest of the world – paired with the traditional simple food that goes with it. And fun, companionship and laughter.
From this year’s wine from Krems to the Cuve “In Signo Lionis” from Neckenmarkt, we have a very wide selection. But many other drinks, including aperitifs and cocktails, are also available. Choose from our salads and other dishes for your first course and then move on to our rich Heuriger buffet, offering items such as roast beef, stuffed pork belly or one of our famous steaks.
Naturally, we use the wonderful produce from our own farm as well as regional ingredients, all expertly and lovingly prepared by our kitchen team. Who could imagine a better venue for you – expert, budding sommelier or amateur enthusiast – to enjoy your chosen wine in good company. Our own specialists will be very happy to advise and help, if needed.
The Friesacher Heurige consists of the cosy main room with open fireplace, the “Troadkasten” (the “Granary” in our local dialect) and the dining room. The main room offers space for up to 80 guests while the dining room seats up to 35 guests and the “Troadkasten” up to 15. Up to 130 guests can be accommodated in the 3 rooms together.
